Elon Musk announces a humanoid robot for next year
Elon Musk, director of the Tesla company, announced the launch of a humanoid robot prototype for 2022, the tesla bot. It will be designed to replace humans in jobs considered dangerous or repetitive.
Speaking at Tesla's Artificial Intelligence Day, the group's chief executive said the robot, which stands around six feet tall, could fasten bolts to cars with an adjustable wrench or even collect purchases in stores.

The announcement comes as US safety authorities launched an investigation into Tesla's Autopilot autonomous driving assistance system, following a series of accidents involving emergency vehicles.
Elon Musk did not comment on this review, but expressed confidence in the possibility of achieving fully autonomous driving with greater safety than humans.

The billionaire has often announced futuristic tech advancements at prestigious events and then scaled down his plans.
